I came along with Hendricks, Jopyln, Eddie Kendricks, Three Dog Night... mamma told me not to come...that ain't the way to have fun. Mama just didn't know. Those who were there, I consider a national treasure. Films, books and tales from you, who now is a grandparent, cannot preserve the spirit somehow. One day, the treasure will be gone.
A new way of thinking.
The OG is neither left or right. We are left and right.We believe that there is nothing new under the sun and the truth will make you free. There is this OG out on the coast. He spent many years wasting his life. He woke one day and realized that his life had more sunsets than sunrises. He is 60, has no skills other than life. Wondering where it all went so fast He looked around and saw, everywhere, young people headed down the same road. He, like every OG, knows that this is unacceptable. The OG is now a teacher. He still lives in the street. But now it is by choice. There he hopes to challenge young minds to imagine
The first thing to do with the past is forget it...
We are decendents of slaves and hold the government responsible for reperations. Get over it because it will not happen. But that is beside the point. The future and how we deal with it will determine how or whether we survive, prosper or suffer.
New World Order
President Herbert Walker Bush was the first one of a high make a difference position I ever heard use the phrase "New World Order". I did not really know what he meant. But since the turn of the millenium, I see profound differences in the way things work.
The world really is flat now.
A guy works for a big company who, without warning, breaks camp and reopens in India. This guy protests..he has right. Right? He knows he has to pay the bills and must come up with something and soon. His partner tells him that he has an internet business that has been successful. Cool. Homeboy decides to give it a try. He contacts a company to build a website for him. He is told that such a site would cost $3000. One more keystroke and a guy in India offers to do it for $300...it ain"t rocket science. The world is flat now. Perhaps that is the footprint of this new millenium.
Make lemonaid
There is a saying...when fate hands you a lemon, make lemonaid. Turn liabilities into assets. The phrases New World Order and the world is flat, sound a bit scary if not sinister. But if you look at the changes or "New World Order" from a slightly different perspective, the future offers great promise to any and everybody. One place that offers promise to anybody who is willing to work hard is the internet. There, the playing field is level. There, you can become a Multi-national CEO with a keystroke. There, you can, from your kitchen table, associate yourself and make money with giant companies around the world simply by filling out a form. The trick is to make a better mousetrap and in time, offer that $3000 website for $299.
From The OG...
The term OG has many implications. It depends on who you ask. Here, evolution is the distraction. Day follows night. Spring follows winter. The body has elements in direct proportation to those of the Earth. As the wind is and cannot be seen, there is a higher intellegence unseen. I will insult no one by trying to label it. It is that it is.
